AWANUIA (2009/2747gt/IMO 9458042) - Seafuels, a joint venture between Ports of Auckland (New Zealand) and Pacific Basin Shipping, welcomed their brand new bunkering tanker AWANUIA when she arrived in Auckland from her Turkish builders via Singapore.
The 11-week voyage, which included a transit of the Suez Canal and Gulf of Aden, saw the 80-metre, 3900dwt vessel arrive in Auckland at first light on Thursday 20 August.
AWANUIA, named after a NZ native shellfish, will provide essential refuelling services at the Port of Auckland for visiting cruise and cargo ships and will be officially named at a ceremony next month.
